WASHI PAPER
Washi (Japanese paper) has been used in Japan for more than 1,400 years and is still used for various things around us.
Unlike Western paper, which is made from finely ground wood pulp, Washi is made by twisting long plant fibers together, making it tear-resistant, highly durable, and giving it a unique texture.
和紙は日本で1400年以上前から使われており、今もなお私たちの身の回りの様々なものに使われています。 繊維を細かく砕いた木材パルプを原料にした洋紙に対して、和紙は長い食物繊維を絡めて製造するので、破れにくく耐久性にすぐれており、独特な風合いがあります。
